The Zinc Kings

When: Sun., May 8, 3 p.m. 2016
Price: free
The Zinc Kings formed at UNC–Greensboro in 2010 with one goal: to spotlight the oft-neglected, blues-informed musical traditions of North Carolina’s Piedmont region. The group’s original bluegrass tunes and sharp playing have attracted bigger audiences and led to almost nonstop touring. To coincide with the quadricentennial of Shakespeare’s death, the band will be playing works from its original score for an adaptation of As You Like It, set in the nineteenth-century American South. —David Klein
