The True Story of the 3 Little Pigs

When: Sat., May 18, 11 a.m. 2013
Price: $7-9
The Tarradiddle Players of Charlotte's Children's Theatre present this haunting rock musical based on Jon Scieszka's immortal exploration of the subjective nature of narrative and the moral ambiguity inherent in classic storytelling. Long cast as antagonist in a fairy tale, the lupine protagonist of this dramatization recasts the story with himself as the lead, protesting his innocence in a change of perspective not unlike that of John Gardner's reversal of the Beowulf legend in Grendel. The work raises deeply philosophical questions as to the nature of morality and the prejudicial impact of oral history. Suggested for grades K–5. —Zack Smith
