Dr. Chris Fonvielle, Author, The Wilmington Campaign: Last Rays of Departing Hope and Fort Anderson: Battle for Wilmington Fonvielle will discuss Lt. William B. Cushing (US Navy) and his crew’s sinking of the CSS Albemarle. Commander Cushing and his crew were responsible for destroying the ironclad vessel in October 1864.
