The Ringers

When: Thu., Feb. 21, 8 p.m. 2013
Price: $20-30

This is one of just five dates on the debut tour of The Ringers, a supergroup that features Widespread Panic guitarist Jimmy Herring, fusion guitarist Wayne Krantz, worldly bassist Etienne Mbappe, and prolific session players Michael Landau and Keith Carlock. These musicians are best known for their associations: In addition to the Panic, Herring has played with The Allman Brothers Band, Phil Lesh and The Dead, while Landau and Carlock's credits include Pink Floyd, Miles Davis, Michael Jackson and James Taylor. The quintet has written new material together that they'll play alongside selections from their own solo work, plus a batch of covers. —Spencer Griffith
