When: Sat., Jan. 9, 8 & 10 p.m. 2016
Price: $7
Look and listen closely enough, and you may discover a rift among Triangle jazz musicians. On one hand, you have the scene’s soul-forward swing maestros who’ll jam any night away; then you have master technicians like pianist Noah Sager and saxophonist Keenan McKenzie, whose reputations are touted more by the before-midnight enthusiasts. For these early club engagements, percussionist Theous Jones and bassist Eric Meyer join the fold. —Eric Tullis
