The Monti | Stage | Indy Week
This is a past event.

The world is already bewildering enough for most of us. But for children with learning differences, a term now replacing "learning disabilities" in the professional community, the disparities in how they process the world in each moment, and how the world views those differences in turn, can be a real barrier to social and academic development. That's why it's particularly appropriate that the regional first-person storytelling series The Monti has chosen courage as the theme of this benefit performance for The Hill Center. For forty years, the Durham school has helped students with attention deficit disorder, dyslexia, and other processing challenges negotiate their differences and find success in school and life. Monti founder Jeff Polish hosts speakers including local young adult novelist J.J. Johnson; the ticket price includes complimentary beverages. —Byron Woods
