The Monti

When: Sat., Sept. 11, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $20; $12 for students

Jeff Polish devised The Monti for people in the Triangle to get up and share their personal experiences. Past participants have included Elizabeth Edwards and Lee Smith, along with lesser-known Triangle raconteurs. Tonight's season opener presents stories associated with the theme of "turning points." The main man of the night is Greg Taylor, who in February became the first person found innocent by the N.C. Innocence Inquiry Commission. Taylor wrongly served 17 years, and tonight the audience will hear his incredible story. Others on deck include authors Belle Boggs, George Singleton and David Gessner, as well as reporter Janet Babin. —Sarah Ewald
