The Mollycoddle

When: Fri., March 2, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $5 ($3.50 for members)

A classic of the silent era, this 1920 film was the last of Douglas Fairbanks' adventures set in the present day before he devoted himself full-time to cinematic swashbuckling. Directed by Victor Fleming (who later directed both The Wizard of Oz and Gone With the Wind), it's the tale of a foppish dandy who must reclaim his manhood to take on some diamond smugglers. Considering his portrayer, it's pretty dang likely the character will succeed, but enjoy the action with live music from David Drazin. The show starts at 8 p.m.; tickets are $5, or $3.50 for members of NCMA, Galaxy Cinema or Cinema Inc. Independent contributor Laura Boyes programmed this series. —Zack Smith
