Drama

Lech Majewski's no stranger to making movies about art: He wrote the screenplay to Basquiat and directed The Garden of Earthly Delights, a film inspired by Hieronymous Bosch. He's back with this sensational film that imagines the creation of Pieter Bruegel's "The Way to Calvary." Majewski's film, like his subject's paintings, revels in the earthy details of 16th-century Flemish life even as it employs up-to-the-minute CGI techniques to bring this wonderfully complex work to life.
Director: Lech Majewski
Writer: Michael Francis Gibson
Cast: Rutger Hauer, Michael York and Charlotte Rampling
