There are approximately seven million Muslims in the United States. What are some of the major challenges in trying to better understand the religion? What is the experience of being Muslim-American post-9-11? The presentation will help audiences better understand Islam as seen from the perspective of a scholar and teacher whose own backgrounds may help to illuminate the and often misunderstood histories and cultures of Muslims. Omar H. Ali, is a scholar and received his Ph.D. in History from Columbia University.
