The LEGO Movie charms and stakes a claim to be 2014's best animated film by playfully tweaking the very toy line it's based on, not to mention the adult fans who make up a surprising percentage of its fan-base. The film follows the story of Emmet Brickowski (voiced by Chris Pratt), an ordinary construction worker mini-fig who is thrust into a mission to rescue his LEGO world. Stumbling into a conspiracy involving Master Builders, mythical weapons of mass destruction wielded by evil tyrants (Will Ferrell) and magical prophets (Morgan Freeman), Emmet is an unlikely hero in a world filled with so many licensed superheroes.
