The Juliana Hatfield Three (Back Room)

When: Tue., March 24, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $20
It’s appropriately wry and self-deprecating for The Julianna Hatfield Three to reunite after 20 years, record their second album and then claim that the resulting tour is a “21st Anniversary” celebration of the first. Hatfield stayed prolific as a solo artist throughout the ’90s and ’00s, but the 1993 record she made with bassist Dean Fisher and drummer Todd Philips was the closest she got to the Gen X mainstream. That album, Become What You Are, was gentle indie-pop dressed in grunge flannel, and the new Whatever, My Love is only slightly mellower. —Jeff Klingman
