The Jackets, The Tomahawks

When: Wed., Nov. 10 2010
Price: $8

Listeners familiar with both Raleigh quartet The Jackets and Carrboro supergroup The Tomahawks already know this dual bill is a vintage pop/rock lover's dream. Led by a trio of singer-songwriters who've played with a host of bands—Chatham County Line, Hotel Lights and Thad Cockrell among them—The Jackets shift from rowdy, Southern-tinged classic rock scorchers to jangly, reverb-laced pop ballads. Nick Jaeger—who's served as a guitarist for Roman Candle, Max Indian, Luego and many more—fronts The Tomahawks, another Drughorse-rooted project with a fondness for retro styling. —Spencer Griffith
