The INDY Endorses Jennifer Robinson for Cary Town Council District A

The District A race pits incumbent Jennifer Robinson against Majid Mohadjer and Radha Ravi Varma. Mohadjer hasn't raised any money and doesn't appear to have a significant campaign presence. Varma, a software developer and self-described conservative who has lived in Cary for four years, wants to end "aggressive overdevelopment" in west Cary and ban new home developments until local schools have their attendance caps lifted. He also wants to ban plastic bags and doesn't think the town has enough undeveloped land to accommodate affordable housing.

Robinson, who has served on the council for eighteen years and works for SAS as director of local government solutions, is versed in the intricacies of town governance and has made her mark as an effective leader. She argues for smarter development, including increased infill and density in certain areas, as well as for improving the town's infrastructure and looking at new options to shore up the town's tax base. In this race, she's the better choice.
