The Forryst Bruthers

When: Sat., July 9, 6 p.m. 2016
Price: free
Since first playing together a dozen years ago in The Old Ceremony’s early days, James Wallace and Mark Simonsen have been valuable contributors to a slew of esteemed local acts: The Dead Tongues, Max Indian, Mandolin Orange, and more. Enlisting a rhythm section of Aaron Oliva (Sarah Shook & the Disarmers) and Evans Nicholson (Old Habits), the freewheeling crew—which also features guest Robert Sledge tonight—collaborates on country-soul originals inspired by seventies songwriters like Jim Ford and Eric Kaz. —Spencer Griffith
