The Everymen, Amigo, Silver Dollar Switchblade

When: Fri., March 6, 9 p.m. 2015
Price: $5
The Everymen distill the most distinctive elements of the Jersey Shore sound—bar-band bombast, wheezing sax, portentous piano—and rev it up with punk-like energy. Led by Mike Venutolo-Mantovani, this septet certainly runs the risk of over-pasteurizing too many familiar elements, like Gary U.S. Bonds, filtered through the Boss filtered through Southside Johnny. But when they let it rip, which they mostly do on last year’s Givin’ Up on Free Jazz, they deliver on their populist promise—you can practically smell the cheese fries. —David Klein
