Action/Adventure, SciFi/Fantasy

This third installment in a new adaptation of C.S. Lewis' classic series is a step up from its bland predecessors. Credit is due to the choice of Michael Apted as director; the man behind the 7 Up series of documentaries, as well as such Hollywood outings as The World Is Not Enough, proves to be a steady, healthy influence here. Though the film at times seems like a rush to the next fight scene, Dawn Treader does manage to include a bit more intelligence than many fantasy films for children.
