The Butchies, Pink Flag, The Cuntry Kings

When: Wed., July 21, 9 p.m. 2010
Price: $7–$8
That thing about you can't go home again? No one told Kaia Wilson. We couldn't keep her away. The Butchies, formed in Durham with Allison Martlew and Melissa York, reunite this week, playing their first show in five years. Wilson is also on her way to compete in table tennis at the Gay Games in Cologne, Germany. The self-proclaimed "ponger" wants sparring partners before tonight's show begins. Along with Tami Hart, local outfit Pink Flag and emcees the Cuntry Kings, expect high-energy fun. Wilson even has instructions: "Please people, throw your bras onstage (men, throw your bras too!) so that Melissa will have to put them on over her shirt. It's very hot, and it's not a Butchies show if that doesn't happen." Pong it up at 7:30 p.m. (Tami Hart will no longer be playing) —Chris Toenes
