The Black Lips, The King Khan & BBQ Show, The Shine Brothers

When: Fri., Oct. 3, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $17
After 15 years, Atlanta’s Black Lips have more than grown into their role as garage-rock poster boys. From the infamously rowdy “flower-punk” salad days when their shows were as much about antics as sprawling psych-pop to the relative polish of their recent hooky output, Black Lips have their genre bases covered. The big treat here is a rare appearance from the King Khan & BBQ Show, an on-again, off-again collaboration between King Khan and Mark Sultan. Their budget rock-meets-doo-wop sound draws upon both parties’ greatest strengths. —Bryan Reed
