Drama, Horror

Literally the stuff of dark fairytales, this haunting tale of suburban paranoia will stick with you long after the credits roll. The title character is a shadowy figure from a pop-up book with a top hat, cloak and kinfe-like hands who may or may not be terrorizing a young boy and his mother. Actually, he's terrorizing them, but is he real or did they create them from their own psychological torments? The true scares come from writer-director Jennifer Kent's depiction of the horrors that exist within the walls of daily domestic life.
