The B-52s, Southern Culture on the Skids, Big Something

When: Sat., May 12, 7 p.m. 2012
Price: $35-150

After years at the Lincoln Theatre, Triangle nonprofit Band Together increases its fundraising potential by moving its main event to the more spacious Koka Booth Amphitheatre. New wave ravers The B-52s headline; their distinctive boy-girl vocals serve as the calling card for quirky tunes that pair surprisingly well with Southern Culture on the Skids' zany surfabilly/ rockabilly/ everything-abilly eccentricities. Burlington's Big Something opens at 7 p.m. with rhythmically focused alt-rock. Tickets run $29.50–$150, with proceeds going to Urban Ministries of Wake County's Open Door Clinic, which served 7,000 patients in 2011. —Spencer Griffith
