The Apache Relay, Clockwork Kids

When: Sun., March 31, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $9-11

The road never ends for Nashville folk-rockers The Apache Relay, still touring behind 2011's appropriately titled American Nomad. Like those bands to whom they're frequently compared (The Avett Brothers and Mumford & Sons, but electric), The Apache Relay romanticizes both their road-tripping tenacity and the Avetts' one-fan-at-a-time business model. But as the band funnels its plugged-in energy into wide-angle anthems and broad lyrical gestures, The Apache Relay recalls the sing-along opulence and on-the-nose catch-phrasing of Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros. Clockwork Kids open. —Bryan C. Reed
