The 39 Steps | Raleigh Little Theatre | Stage | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Oct. 12-28 2012
Price: $12-20

Patrick Barlow's tongue-in-cheek take on Alfred Hitchcock's 1935 suspense classic has become a surprise hit of the stage, including a successful Off-Broadway run and multiple regional productions (in addition to this Raleigh Little Theatre presentation, there's one at Sanford's Temple Theatre that starts on Oct. 18). It's an over-the-top wink-and-nudge look at a tale of a man framed for murder with spies all around him—and more than 150 characters played by just four actors. Filled with references to classic Hitchcock films, it's a comedy that fans of both old-school cinema and new-school self-referential humor can get behind. Friday's opening show is at 8 p.m.; performances continue Thursdays–Saturdays at 8 p.m. and Sundays a 3 p.m. through Oct. 28. Tickets run $12–$20. —Zack Smith
