Re: “How Raleigh’s election was hijacked by questions of vibrancy

To me, the big story here is the energy and engagement of the next generation of Raleigh citizens.

The young folks who were very active in this election- and we should be proud of them- are concerned about thir City. Many are engaging in the conversation for he first time, thanks to this election and the young candidates who ran exemplary first time campaigns. Whatever their rallying point, they registered many new voters, and got thier generation engaged and out to the polls. A big win for Raleigh no matter the outcome of the races.

But Mr. Geary aopparently can't write an article about Raleigh politics that doesn't quickly devlove into an andti-development rant. It is the only enemy he sees, and it is everywhere. Throw in a couple of cheap shots at certain councilors, and you get the usual mud pie of senible journalism, and blurry, unfocused, and misguided vitriol. Op ed, indeed.

Re: “Why is Raleigh rushing a rezoning vote before the next City Council is seated?

With all respect, this is one of the most fictionalized and lopsided accounts of Raleigh politics that Bob has ever produced. I hope the readership of the Indy is intellegent enough to know an overblown op ed from a reporting of fact. Other than using the UDO as a convenient vehicle for taking cheap jabs at various councillors, I am not seeing anything here that offers useful or accurate, nor least of all nuanced, exporation of the issues.

Come on, Bob, you an do better than this.
