FYI: the 60 academic coaches are considered central office personnel who teach half their day in a classroom as the primary teacher and the rest of their day is spent assistng classroom teachers with the implementation of the new literacy model. It will be interesting to see how many actual 'central office' personnel lose jobs? I think it is a good idea for the School Board members to return their stipend pay back to the district. One could also say that a teacher's yearly salary is also only a cup of water in a big ocean. By the way how much is the new sup salary? pension? travel expense? And will his wife stay in Guilford or will she eventually find a spot in DPS, down the hall from her husband?
