Tad Walters, John Dee Holeman

When: Thu., Aug. 11, 7 p.m. 2016
John Dee Holeman plays the cleanest blues you’ve ever heard. The subject matter may be murky—he loves to sing about a dead man’s paw, the mojo hand you dig up to cast spells—but his fingerpicking is as crisp and precise as any Piedmont blues performer. Tad Walters makes for the perfect accompanist, as he listens carefully before joining in with harmonica or guitar. —Grant Britt
