Tab Benoit & Anders Osborne, Big Chief Monk Boudreaux, Mel Melton & the Wicked Mojos

When: Fri., Dec. 3, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $17-$25

"It will stand," sang the late General Norman Johnson in the early '60s. Johnson was testifying about rock 'n' roll, but those words can now officially be applied to the jam scene. The Dead-and-Allmans-spawned/ Phish-honed "hard to define but I know it when I hear it" sound is clearly here to stay. And two of the most versatile guitarists in that arena, the Louisiana pair of Tab Benoit and Anders Osborne, are teaming up for the Six Strings of Christmas tour. Big Chief Monk Boudreaux and Mel Melton & the Wicked Mojos complete the bill. —Rick Cornell
