Re: “The Neuse Riverkeeper Foundation lends visibility—and sound—to environmental issues

The most important ingredient in SweetWater’s lip smackin’ brews is clean water. With that in mind, SweetWater Brewing Company and the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation are teaming up again to present the Save the Neuse Benefit featuring artists Oatmeal Conspiracy and The Moderate at The Pour House on June 10. Tickets are $8 in advance and $10 at the door. Proceeds will benefit the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation’s efforts to ensure safe, clean water for our community and future generations.

“We partnered last year with SweetWater Brewing Company for their Save the Neuse campaign in an effort to encourage local business and citizens to step up to protect the vital natural resources that we all depend on,” said Alissa Bierma, Upper Neuse RIVERKEEPER®. “SweetWater’s efforts not only provided crucial funding ($9K) for our water protection programs--they also educated and involved more people than ever before in protecting their river.”

Sweetwater Brewing Company continues to team up with RIVERKEEPER® groups across the Southeast to protect clean water everywhere and will be running programs and events designed to motivate citizens to become more involved with this cause. SweetWater fans in Atlanta are no strangers to the annual Save the Hooch Campaign, which has raised more than $150,000 dollars to support Upper Chattahoochee Riverkeeper’s river patrol and water quality programs since its inception in 2006.

SweetWater Brewing Company and the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation will be celebrating the Save the Neuse Campaign on Friday, June 10 at The Pour House, with doors open at 8pm and the show beginning at 9pm.

Also, during the month of June, we are teaming up with local bars and restaurants in an effort to raise money for the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation through the purchase of paper fish. The fish are $1, $5, and $10 each and 100% of the proceeds goes directly to the Neuse RIVERKEEPER® Foundation. Consumers will also have the opportunity to win paddle trips down the Neuse River at several participating accounts. Please visit http://savetheneuse.com/ for participating accounts and how you can help save the Neuse!! Give of your liver to support your river!! See everyone at the Pour House!

***We'll also have several bottles of our WaterKeeper Hefeweizen on hand at the show. The Waterkeeper Hefeweizen continues our mission to raise awareness for Waterkeepers and assist them in their fight to preserve our rivers, streams, and coastlines. To learn more about our campaigns throughout the southeast, and to make a donation please visit: waterkeeperbrew.org

Waterkeeper® Alliance is a global movement uniting 200 Waterkeepers that focuses citizen advocacy on the pollution
issues that impact our waterways and communities. Waterkeepers patrol more than 1.5 million square miles of rivers, streams, and coastlines in the Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia and Africa. Waterkeeper Alliance provides a way for communities to stand up for their right to clean water and for the wise and equitable use of water resources, both locally and globally. The vision of the Waterkeeper movement is for fishable, swimmable and drinkable waterways worldwide. Our belief is that the best way to achieve this vision is through the Waterkeeper method of grassroots advocacy.
