Re: “New report highlights sexual abuse targeting farmworkers, including in North Carolina

The track record the US has around rape is simply deplorable. Women and girls in general suffer further when reporting rapes and abysmally few rapists are jailed even when convicted. It is a method of keeping people in despair and trusting no one. Rape is part of entertainment, music, movies and male bonding to such a degree that it ensures a sick society. Then add in the horrid mistreatment overall of the migrant workers and it is a living hellish nightmare. Nowhere to turn. Slavery has never been abolished only morphed into another slightly paid form. The shameful training of US military that also promotes rape furthers this sickness that continues once many damaged soldiers return to civilian life. The infrastructure of dominance, greed and abuse is solidly in place. No wonder so many youth are hopeless. What kind of pathetic excuse for a society is this? For shame.
