Re: “Despite Previous Agreement, Low-Income Forest Hill Apartments Residents Again to Vacate by April 30 or Face Eviction

man, that is so cold and heartless. it is very hard to find an affordable apartment much less find the money to move, deposits, time off of work, etc. there just never seems to be a break for the people that need it the most. it tells me all i need to know about daniel eller's character and shows me how the chamber of commerce defines professional of the year. mr eller is not a positive refection on them. it is always money over people. ethics are so old fashioned and it makes the honest person feel like a sucker to even think a person will act according to them.

Re: “Garner Residents in Subsidized Housing Face Increased Rent, Eviction

EPC LLC should be publicly shamed for throwing vulnerable citizens out on the street, especially in such a cold manner. that's harsh. i have no respect for the people that made that decision. What they do to others they will do to you.

Re: “Deconstructing Republican notions of freedom and liberty

very well written; you've nailed it. the one constant is lack of empathy. you just can't make someone deal with their cognitive dissonance until they are ready. they see themselves as good people and therefore can do no wrong. we shouldn't be mean to them but we shouldn't cater to nonethical behavior either.

Re: “No kissing at Cameron Village? Or no kissing if you're gay?

for every incident like this that gets reported by someone willing to take the abuse of the general public there are 50 more that don't get reported. i am grateful that these gals are willing to bear the ugliness of people like jollypants. that constant judgement and rudeness from strangers removes one's sense of safety in the world and wears down one's spirit.

Re: “Mitchell: We commit to NEW Jordan Lake rules, 130 units of affordable housing

durham needs more expensive housing and offices like a hole in the head. there are empty houses and offices all over. so, there isn't a need here. this is about the developer's want of money, period. the developer was not origonally wanting to build a place that really provides safety for the lake or affordable housing, both of which we do need. he had to be forced. the words of the southpoint develper didn't come true did they? why should anyone believe this guy? where else has he built and what did he do there? i'm curious how he defines affordable housing. what poor person, much less rich ones can get approved for a loan to buy a place there, or anywhere? the bus? that's rich. he's building shelters for a nonexistant bus system for 130 affordable houses? that math doesn't work out. must everything always be about money? i bet the developer wins in the end. they always do.
