Sunnyslope(s), Knurr and Spell

When: Fri., Nov. 11, 8:30 p.m. 2016
Price: $6
Don’t mistake Sunnyslope(s) for a post-rock outfit. The band eschews the genre’s rote build-and-swell for conventionally structured indie rock. The quartet’s instrumentals are loose and limber; twanging guitar lines arc with bristling electricity and drums thrum in a plain-sailing, “Apache”-beat ostinato. There’s more than a sprinkling of Polvo’s lazy comet dissonance in there, too. With Knurr & Spell. —Patrick Wall
