Sunday Sites feat. The Bipeds

When: Sun., Oct. 22, 6-8 p.m. 2017
Price: free

If you caught Little Green Pig Theatrical Concern's immersive choose-your-own-adventure, This Is Not a Novel, in March, you probably passed by two sets of Durham's most resourceful dance artists. In one room, Stephanie Leathers wound herself in ropes while performing a durational piece; in another, dancer-choreographer Stacy Wolfson and banjo player-songwriter Curtis Eller, who together make up The Bipeds, carved out a song and dance with a chair, taunting passersby with knowing glances. This weekend, Leathers lends The Bipeds her roving site-specific platform, Sunday SITES, and lets them roll with it. "Sunday Sites featuring ______" will repeat through the fall; artists choose the place and the timespan of the performance. (The series will feature Anna Barker and Northern High School's dance company, among others.) On Sunday, The Bipeds hold court outside Manbites Dog Theater, a gesture toward Eller's long history with the theater and to the venue's impending closure. —Michaela Dwyer
