Re: “'The VA is waiting for us to die'

I've given up on getting any benefits from my service. When I left the service, my life was in disarray, I was homeless for awhile, and all attempts to get help from the VA took time away from efforts to get a job and find a place to live. Just the process of getting military medical records is a time-consuming affair, and there's never any guarantee that the information contained therein is complete and accurate. After 10 years of bankruptcy, alcoholism, homelessness, and job-hopping, I'm employed and plan on staying with my current company until retirement.

I see 2 or 3 well-publicized cases where the VA is actually doing their job, while talking to literally hundreds of others (unpublicized, of course) with similar stories to this article. In short, I'm firmly convinced that the VA is ineffectual and self-important, and I have 100% certainty that the VA is in the business of denying benefits to those who served, for the benefit of the government alone.
