Re: “Is It Time for Durham to Rethink Its Unusual Method of Electing Some City Council Members?

"DH (Donald Hughs) is one of the most hostile and antagonistic people I've ever, ever met in politics. Which is saying a lot".

I'm sorry to post again without waiting for a response but I just read the quote above. I hereby call you out Frank Hyman: Put up or shut up. Donald Hughes is everything we want from our young people. He is polite, well spoken, highly educated, insightful and, if I can say so, and good looking young man. How dare you attack him in these pages. You know its a lie and you're throwing garbage like this out there because your argument has no merit (about that PA endorsement meeting). In your frustration with his mother outmaneuvering you and the PA power elite you attack a wonderful young man without offering ANYTHING to back up your accusations. He doesn't deserve it and it makes you look small.

Re: “Is It Time for Durham to Rethink Its Unusual Method of Electing Some City Council Members?

"Also I gather she did not tell the reporter that she was a leader in packing the Peoples Alliance meeting for John Rooks..."

It is my understanding that there were a total of eight MacDougald Terrace residents that came to that PA endorsement meeting. They had the red badges which meant they could speak but not vote ... and that is exactly what they did. They convinced people to back Rooks and not Pastor Middleton by the power of their arguments. I think Mr. Hyman is just ticked off because these poor black women were able to work the system to their advantage. He can't believe they would be politically astute enough had they not been manipulated by the evil Ms. Wagstaff. It does appear that Jackie was working with them - so what. That is neither underhanded nor against the rules. Jackie Wagstaff is a paid up member of the PA. Frank and the gang of faux progressives that have a stranglehold on Durham politics just don't like it when the little people flex their muscles.

Re: “A judge says people are acting like "idiots" and a melee erupts in Durham family court

It would be nice to know two things:

1. How was this tape obtained? Was it leaked (if so - by whom and for what reason) or did the reporter request it?

2. Are the tapes made in courtrooms public property? Who should I ask to get access to the other three days of the trial.
