Re: “Why does the right wing worship Ayn Rand?

Wonderful article. My father in law is a staunch social Republican and is extremely religious. He holds Ayn Rand in high esteem (probably because he heard Beck/Limbaugh do so). I don't think he realizes how much she disdained religion. I particularly liked one of the opening lines, "The GOP dilemma—a golden opportunity to rule but nothing to say and no one to say it—". -Well put, this is the opportunity of a lifetime for the opposition party but they have no one of merit to put forth. This could be a defining moment to transform their party. I have to say, I have been disgusted by the medias blatant snubbing of Ron Paul. He nearly won the Iowa straw poll and still never gets a mention. Even NPR has been largely silent. When is officially a "viable" candidate? I sincerely think he would have a greater chance than any of the GOP front runners. Independent voters that went Obama's direction in '08 may be swayed in his libertarian direction? -The media should not be playing "king maker", just count the votes and report.
Anyways, I digress. Great article!
Hope you don't mind, I shared it on -If you aren't familiar with hubski, check it out -your voice would be most welcome there.
