St. Nicholas

When: Nov. 4-21 2010

Vampires. They're everywhere, especially this time of year. But Irish playwright Conor McPherson was ahead of the curve on this trend. Here he paints a character who's racked up respectable achievements over the years but yearns for more. The play revolves around a theater critic who falls in love at first sight with an actress. But this woman isn't exactly what she seems, so he goes on the requisite voyage of self-discovery. Burning Coal's artistic director Jerome Davis stars, and Randolph Curtis Rand directs. Performances run through Nov. 21. Tickets are $5–$20; the Nov. 7 matinee is pay what you can.—Sarah Ewald
