Songwriters in the Round

When: Tue., July 9, 9 p.m. 2013
Price: $5-7

This rotating showcase features four local songwriting talents sharing a setting that spotlights their words and melodies. Better known as The Tourist, Hunter MacDermut delivers easygoing, instantly hummable indie, while Chris Titchner squeezes humanity from topics as mundane as moving days and menial jobs. Wes Collins' writing matches his twangy vocals—particularly when he plays slide guitar—as he veers toward honky-tonk and country, with ventures into softer folk, too. Punctuated by percussive guitar, Tracy S. Feldman's tunes often are laced with an environmental message. —Spencer Griffith
