SOJA, The Green, Leilani Wolfgramm

When: Thu., Feb. 19, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $20-$25
For all their talk of folk music, Virginia’s SOJA aren’t far removed from most Americanized island-pop makers, even if a Grammy and two chart-topping albums prove they’ve gotten popular doing it. The octet speaks more often of social consciousness than love, but that’s not new reggae ground, exactly. The Green blend Hawaiian traditions with roots reggae, while Leilani Wolfgramm adds sultry lovers rock. —Spencer Griffith
