Social Distortion, Nikki Lane, Drag The River

When: Thu., Aug. 27, 8 p.m. 2015
Price: $35
Social Distortion has long been punk-rock’s on-ramp to country. Ever since frontman Mike Ness moved the band from LA hardcore heroes (see 1982’s Mommy’s Little Monster) to alt-country precursors after a mid-’80s hiatus (see 1992’s Somewhere Between Heaven and Hell), Social D has sat at a comfortable nexus of brash riffs and everyman croons. Touring to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their self-titled record, Social D seems to have doubled down on the roots rock. Honky-tonk singer/songwriter Nikki Lane and Colorado alt-twang all-stars Drag The River open. —Bryan C. Reed
