Re: “In a Statement, The Durham Hotel Apologizes to Michael Cho, Says It Does Not Tolerate Discrimination

The Hotel could have stopped with "we are deeply sorry for this incident." Instead they went on to attack the victim - accusing HIM of making "unfounded allegations" on social media. In effect, this is really a non-apology. The hotel failed to address the fact that the hostess failed to follow policy by 1. establishing that there WAS in fact a "personal dispute" 2. establish that the person in question was indeed Dr. Cho and 3. at least allowed the victim (Dr. Cho) to know what the allegations against him were. The snap to judgement by [name redacted] were due to her own inherent biases. The hostess kept repeating that Dr. Cho made someone feel "uncomfortable." That someone was just as much the hostess herself as much as the hysterical mistaken accuser. The hotel should have outlined concrete policies to address how to prevent this type of thing from ever happening again, to anyone. Period. They are lucky it was only an Asian man and not another race they targeted otherwise the story would have been much bigger.
