Smashfest | The Scrap Exchange | Special Events | Indy Week
This is a past event.
When: Fri., Nov. 29, 4-9 p.m. 2013
In Office Space, Mike Judge's anti-corporate masterpiece, co-workers take a troublesome fax machine out in a field and smash it with baseball bats in a note-perfect parody of gangland hits from other movies. If you've ever harbored fantasies of taking out the Dell that dissed you—or you just like the sound of breaking glass—the Scrap Exchange gives you the opportunity to vent on Black Friday. The third annual Smashfest doubles as a fundraiser: Donors can purchase breakable items including plates, mirrors and, yes, office equipment, and destroy them. In the spirit of the Exchange, artist-in-residence Jeannette Brossart will use the shards in upcoming mosaics. —JP Trostle
