Re: “How to Buy an Assault Rifle in North Carolina

Assault Rifles have been heavily restricted on a federal level since 1986. No assault rifle manufactured after May 19, 1986 may be sold to any civilian, period. Any made before that are registered with the ATF, and may be transferred as an NFA Weapon.

I think you meant to say "Assault Weapon," which, on a federal level, and NC, is not a legal term. You CAN buy an AR-15 Modern Sporting Rifle. But it's essentially the exact same gun as the Mini-14, a rifle which every so-called Assault Weapons Ban yet presented has specifically EXCLUDED. Both guns are magazine fed, both have an effective rate of fire of "as fast as you can pull the trigger," and both are chambered in either 5.56 NATO or .223 Remington.

Stop with the sensationalist language. Stop DELIBERATELY misusing terms to mislead people.

And if you buy a gun online, you absolutely have to do a background check because the firearm, if shipped, has to be shipped to an FFL DEALER TO COMPLETE THE TRANSFER. If you go to the seller PERSONALLY, no, you don't have to have a background check on a long gun, but if that gun is used in committing a crime, the SELLER IS CULPABLE. But you conveniently leave that out.

Seriously, you want to know why there's no dialogue about firearms? Because none of you anti-gun liberals know a damn thing about firearms, with your barrel shroud "Shoulder things that go up" and your "Ghost guns" and your "30 magazine clips" and your FINITE USE MAGAZINES.

Also, the fact that you want to ban and/or restrict things based PURELY ON COSMETICS, NOT ON FUNCTION.

So come off it. You're a joke, you're a sensationalist reporter, and you are disingenuous, dishonest, and are only doing this (and choosing your words the way you did) to scare people and push an agenda.

Nice twisting of facts.

Try again, bucko.
