Silent Night, Deadly Night

When: Wed., Dec. 8, 8 p.m. 2010
Price: $5

Cinema Overdrive spotlights a film and a quarter this time, showing a 35 mm print of the 1984 film about a killer in a Santa Claus outfit that prompted mass outrage ... and what they could find of its 1987 sequel, Silent Night, Deadly Night 2. Yes, there just aren't enough 35 mm prints out there these days. Critics, though, might be a bit happy that the film is vanishing. "What's next? The Easter Bunny as a child molester?" spewed Leonard Maltin, whose review is quoted with other negative blurbs on an original art print that will be for sale at the screening. Pay $5 at 8 p.m. for this degenerate screening, with plenty of old trailers to boot. —Zack Smith
