Shonna Tucker & Eye Candy, Rob Nance

When: Tue., May 13, 9 p.m. 2014
Price: $10-$12

Notable names have graduated from the University of Drive By Truckers, emerging as worthy songwriters and bandleaders in their own right. Jason Isbell is perhaps the most prominent, but look out for the band's former bassist (and Isbell's ex-wife, if you must) Shonna Tucker. Tucker left the band in 2011, and last October, she finally debuted with A Tell All, backed by her new band Eye Candy. Tracks like "Since Jimmy Came" manage to toe the lines of country, rock and pop, reflecting her Southern rock roots without being hidebound to them. —Allison Hussey
