Re: “Thinking of Going to the Reopened CafĂ© Helios in Raleigh? About That...

This is the most absurd review I have ever read. The wroter runs a sub par music festival and should stick with that and leave restaurant reviews to professionals. He obviously has an ax to grind or a financial interest in a competing coffee house. He brings up trivial nonsense such as the grill being blocked off and a ladder. Both serve a clear and necessary purpose that anyone should understand.
No one went to the old Helios longer or more frequently than I. The new incarnation has preserved the best of the old, corrected the well known problems of the past and added a lot of new improvements. Do not listen to this bitter writer, go try it yourself. The food is great, the coffee is great, the venue is fresh and spotless and the staff always attentive and friendly, never overbearing is this hatchet job states. Sure, the new owner has a huge investment and is rightfully concerned that his customers have a pleasant experience, how is that a problem. I have been in Helios everyday since it reopened, often twice a day, and have never witnessed any overbearing intrusions by the owner or staff and I do not believe the reviewer did either.
There is a reason this guy has to right for a free throw away paper, no one would pay to read his garbage.
