Secret Music, Deleted Scenes, Hammer No More the Fingers

When: Tue., March 20, 9 p.m. 2012
Price: $7-9

Brooklyn's Secret Music headlines two weeks after dropping its debut LP, produced by Passion Pit's Ayad Al Adhamy; the self-titled record is a lo-fi take on Passion Pit's huge, hooky synth-pop, dosed with party-ready rock influence. Washington, D.C., quartet Deleted Scenes excels at both atmosphere and melody, penning dynamic, pop-minded tunes dependent on texture. The band's latest album is an exercise in shape-shifting, arty adventures, bounding from delicate ballads to jaunty, offbeat splendor. Hammer No More The Fingers challenges the out-of-towners with infectious anthems galvanized by buoyant grooves and incisive guitar riffs. —Spencer Griffith
