Sean Watkins, Jill Andrews (Back Room)

When: Sat., Feb. 21, 8:30 p.m. 2015
Price: $12-$15
Guitarist Sean Watkins first rose to acclaim as a third of the early ‘00s progressive folk outfit Nickel Creek, but his bandmate Chris Thile has since outshone Watkins and his sister (and fellow Nickel Creeker) Sara. Still, Watkins is a skilled flatpicker. His latest record, last summer’s All I Do is Lie, shows off more of his songwriter side, with the title track demonstrating his deft picking behind reflections on failed relationships. Opener Jill Andrews, once of the excellent Everybodyfields, is herself a captivating singer-songwriter whose Triangle appearances are few and far between. —Allison Hussey
