Scythian, The Mark Schimick String Band

When: Thu., May 28, 6 p.m. 2015
Price: free
Scythian built a strong following through energetic live performances on the bluegrass and folk festival circuit. They blend Celtic, American and Eastern European folk music in an exaggerated manner, for better and worse. The music sounds cartoonish at times, but their enthusiasm for it gets their audiences to engage. Combine this with their technical mastery, and this show makes for one of the more exciting installments of this year’s Music on the Lawn series at American Tobacco.—Justin Weber
