Scrapomatic, The Fair & the Foul

When: Thu., Nov. 15, 8 p.m. 2012
Price: $8-10

Scrapomatic consists of members of the Derek Trucks Band, the Susan Tedeschi Band and the combined Tedeschi-Trucks Band, including Mike Mattison, Trucks' fiery lead vocalist. It should be no surprise, then, that Scrapomatic deals loosely in rootsy blues-rock. The crew has been around well over a decade but just released its third disc, I'm a Stranger (And I Love the Night). The record offers a surprisingly diverse collection, ranging from swampy electric blues and a woozy Waits-ian waltz to vintage R&B ballads and rustic pop radiance. Fledgling Greensboro quartet The Fair and The Foul opens with elegant, ethereal indie folk. Tickets are $8–$10 for the 8 p.m. show. —Spencer Griffith
