Hammer, all bands are trying to forge their own sound. You get frustrated by being compared to Triangle bands that blazed the trail for indie-rock? You hale from the triangle but sound nothing like those amazing bands and should be honored to be compared to them. You should be grateful to Kyle and Steve, hobbyists, that spent their energy and money on you. And to your biggest fan that acts as your manager for no pay. Perhaps you would have had interest from labels if your five-year-plan was "to be making great music" and not "selling out amphitheaters with crazy light shows". You may be great technicians, but great artists have greater impact. Find some humility boys, stop blaming your shortfalls on others, especially those that care enough to help. And fire the person that wrote your comment, they are not helping your cause.
